As a group we then discussed safeguarding in our communities what it is , how do we recognise risk, what and how  we can help remove the risks .

Sgt Jo Clark our NHW liaison officer then updated members on the current policing activities and provided updated contact details for our local officers after recent changes . Jo also appealed for crime information or suspicious activity to be reported to help officers combat crime and disorder . Jo reminded us all that email can be used via the HP website as an alternative to 101 but not in the case of an emergency .

Jo was also asked to look into a 999 issue that was raised . If you are in any doubt what is an emergency then don’t hesitate to use 999 its better to be safe than sorry you wont get into trouble .

Under  “Parish notes” members were invited to receive free training via the  CPG collaborative  to become a cancer champion . The short training programme raises awareness and the importance of early detection to provide information to family, friends and social groups .

Next week is national NHW week and to celebrate this our NHW network has joined forces with North Lincs,Hull city and the East Riding under a new Humber Watch Group . Steve Lynn has been given the role of the chair in its first year . The working group  has a nominated community member from each area ( Glyn Atkinson for NEL ) and will act as the regional representative for the Humberside area . This will enable us to bid for funding to support projects that supplement the Humberside PCC police and Crime Plan 2017-21. pcc@humberside.pnn.police.uk

Finally, have a great summer and see you all in September
