The links below are now the official National Volunteers site method that we can keep you informed on updates in regards to the Covid 19 situation.
Neighbourhood Watch has also issued below the specific NHW National Office advice with a foot note from our local Humberside area police force.
I am happy to take any calls and questions, but would immediately refer anyone to these ofiicial sites rather than trying to advise on issues myself.
Useful guidance issued by NCVO:
UK Government information for businesses employers and employees:
I have been at the Humber Watch meeting that took place on Monday morning, and it has been agreed to postpone the annual NHW event on the 16th June.
As it stands, as a Humberwatch wide group, across 4 unitary authorities, we are asking Coordinators to assist us by
- Emailing or hand delivering a letter where possible to gain contact numbers for group members to enable a communication plan between groups members.
- Contacting us if you come across anyone who is isolated and may need assistance.
- Please check Action Fraud https://www.actionfraud.police.uk and Humberside Police http://www.humberside.police.uk websites
- Call through on 101 any suspicious activity or Action Fraud to report any scams
We will of course keep in touch with residents via email and telephone, where contact details have been given to me.
Please see below message from Inspector Harvey for NHW Coordinators.
Humberside Police remains committed to Neighbourhood Watch and it is clear that NHW co-ordinators across the force area will be of significant value over the coming weeks and months in helping those members of our communities whose vulnerability may be aggravated by the spread of the corona virus, and also in preventing and reducing the risk of fraudsters taking advantage of the situation to profit by various scams.
Please make regular checks on the Humberside Police and Action Fraud websites for information and updates, and also follow the advice and guidance provided by your regional NHW co-ordinators. Throughout this challenging and disruptive period it is vital that whilst continuing to protect ourselves and others and preventing the spread of the virus, we also look out for others, particularly the vulnerable in our communities, and ensure they are safe and not more vulnerable in becoming victims of crime.
