Hello everyone
Many thanks to those of you who were able to attend our December meeting held on the 8th at the Grimsby Town Hall .
The meetings key speaker was Mr Keith Hunter Police and Crime Commissioner for the Humberside Police area .
Mr Hunter outlined the role of the PCC with an interesting insight into the working relationships with communities and the police .
Neil Hutchins then gave a current update on the local policing position including the development of bespoke policing teams for the East and West Marsh areas .
A Q & A session followed with panel members answering questions put direct by those in attendance and those submitted prior to the meeting .
What emerged was clear support for NHW within NEL and the role it undertakes in protecting communities .
It is hoped to develop a “ training” element for coordinators at future meetings to include things like safeguarding / cyber- crime to help better understanding .
On a separate note I have been asked by NELC Trading Standards to once again remind communities to be aware of doorstep traders especially those offering cut price tree maintenance . I would be grateful if you could circulate this to your neighbourhoods .
Our next meeting is to be held at 7pm on the 14th March 2017 at the Fire Station on Cromwell Rd Grimsby further details will be sent out closer to the event .
In the meantime please keep checking the website www.vanel.org.uk/nelwatch for updates and information .
Finally , may I wish you all seasons greetings and a Happy New Year .
Regards
Steve
