Recent Humberside Police conference last week.

I attended the Humberside Police conference last week from my 1st invite, with no idea of what would be presented on the day at the Grimsby Auditorium venue.

I have to say that I felt very humbled and honoured to be able to see “inside the scenes” as to what work has been done across our region over the last 12 months.

Privacy does not allow me to elaborate on materials shown, but I have had my mind really challenged on where police priorities are driven and by which types of offences.

I am also going to be looking for a particular book of memoirs / personal autobiography from a very senior Crown Prosecutor next year, after a mindblowing collection of previous experiences that the gentleman has had during his career.

More local presentations given really show how hard each day can be for local officers and the challenges they face in every type of situation dealing with the public.

Through my police contacts with those close in my neighbourhood area, to seeing how regional work is completed; this has only reaffirmed my commitment to this current role as NEL NHW Co-Ordinator, and gives me a motive to try to make more groups live, train those who currently volunteer and strive to make my own contribution go as far as possible, with restricted hours in place, currently.

I thank all those NHW groups in N.E Lincolnshire for their continued support – please take advantage of all free training offered currently – you could help a loved one or a neighbour very soon from things learnt.
