Scams and Fraud Awareness
Cold calls impersonating your doctor are among the most recent ‘over the phone’ scams. If you’re ever called by someone saying they are your bank, call 159 to be put through to your genuine bank customer support department.
Fraudwatch resources. If you’re looking for information about scams and fraud or want to tell others ways to stay safe, then take a look at all the downloads, documents and videos that Fraudwatch has put on their local website. Full of very useful materials. VANEL is very pleased to be a FraudWatch partner and Karl at VANEL has just delivered his 48th scams talk to a local group having now spoken to over 1000 people in social groups around North East Lincolnshire. Police related Updates
The office of the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner is seeking your thoughts in a survey to gather public views on Policing and Community Safety from communities in the Humber Region. Read more or go to the survey which is open until the end of September.

Great Coates becomes first Poo Bag Partner Village Council. An example of a local neighbourhood coming together with partners to tackle an issue that affects us all. Can your area get involved too?
South Ward for your diary: On 12th August there will be a major family focused community safety event in South Ward on Sutcliffe Park. Police and many local partners including LHP and the South Ward Forum are involve with the event which aims to support the community with safety and security issues. 12th Aug 10-2, “Together for Tomorrow”
Neighbourhood Watch
With a new Neighbourhood Watch Group having recently set up in New Waltham, Karl at VANEL is keen to get other neighbours and communities to come together to form groups. If you’ve got even the slightest interest in this please talk to Karl for more information to find out how you could get a group going.
