Once in a while a new Neighbourhood Watch Group (NWG) (sometimes referred to as a ‘scheme’) gets up and running in North East Lincolnshire.
A few months back the residents in Rose Gardens in Immingham, who had been subjected to a range of upsetting on-site crimes, formed a group (Rose Gardens NWG) to connect the residents with each other better (and to connect to Police and other support that could help them).
And most recently, a number of owner/residents on the Cleethorpes Beach Holiday Park (previously known as Thorpe Park) got organised to form a new NWG in their part of the site. And with a photo-opportunity, they’re now looking to bring more residents across the site onboard with Neighbourhood Watch.
The Oakwood Drive NWG covers nearly 50 static caravans on the Haven holiday park site, with most of the owner occupiers getting together to support each other. Whilst this only covers a small part of the overall site, we’re hoping that it will keep expanding to create a ‘cluster’ of NWG’s covering more and more of the holiday park.
VANEL have supported the process; the team from Haven have been very accommodating and supportive and the local Policing team have been in conversation with residents about this too.
