New funding for communities in install Speed Indicator Devices

A new grant from the PCC can help communities with 50% of funding towards installation of Speed Indicator Devices. If speeding is an issue in your area it’s worth investigating. Read on for the details.

Speed Indicator Devices (SIDs) offer traffic management solutions which reduce vehicle speeds and create safer and cleaner roads. These electric signs display a speed or message when triggered by vehicles travelling at excessive speeds.

The Office of the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner has launched a new funding pot to help communities such as villages or parishes to get 50% towards the costs of purchasing and installing SID’s to help tackle speed issues in their locations.

It’s not a large fund and a community or organisation will need to do plenty of early steps to get permissions from the Council and organise things before accessing the grant. But if speeding is an issue in your location, take a look at the information and start some discussions.
