MORE LOCAL VIGILANCE STILL REQUIRED !
As we move forward into yet another trying week of self isolations and enforced stays at home for many families, I believe that we need to uphold our vigilance in looking after local vulnerable people, and also those who do not consider home security important.
With many shops closing their doors, there is a significant change to the way that local drug addicts may be accessing funds to feed their habits, which do not go away, just because we have an international crisis.
Many will not even grasp the self isolation theory as they need to gather cash to pay for drugs on a daily basis.
If they are unable to shoplift to gain stolen goods to sell, then they will be looking for other ways to rob people or property.
With less people on the streets, it may be a lot easier to see these people, and local police have had success lately, in breaking up several local drug dens, one with over 100 visitors per day.
They may, therefore, change their tactics and look at home burglaries at night, possibly seeking out more vulnerable people living alone as easier targets.
Please take a few moments this week to ensure that your house and any outbuildings or sheds have good protection against theft. If you are helping any more vulneable neighbours, please ask if their property is burglar safe.
TAKE TIME TO MAKE OTHERS SAFER IN THESE WORRYING TIMES !
THANK YOU !
