SOCIAL MEDIA – FREELY GIVEN INFORMATION.
We’re in lockdown, I’m bored, let’s fill in one of these fun surveys, so how many brothers and sisters have you got, where were you born, what was your first house number and street, tell me lots of little details about yourself ?
You have now given anyone who is on Facebook or similar media sites loads of “personal to you” information, any of which you may have used now, or in the past, as a password or identification process, if you become locked out of any application.
This is exactly how scammers gather enough information about you to then jump in to apply for credit cards, loans etc., and run debts up in your name, using your own information as a legal prop for their criminal activities.
I refuse to pass on or reply to any of these pyramid type run rounds for favourite albums from music, how many tattoos and piercings I may have, and loads of other irrelvent information that could be used.
PLEASE THINK BEFORE GOING INTO THESE SURVEYS – WHO STARTED THEM, AND ARE THEY GATHERING ALL OF THE ANSWERS BY INSERTING GRAB TROJANS IN THE MAILS ??
